We developed an adapter for a cleaning brush for a cleaning company.
The old process for changing the adapter used tools and included several parts. Our adapter is one part and does not require any tools to change a brush.
The design started with copying the old parts and re-designing them in CAD software. The 3D printed prototypes were made to check compatibility. From this 3D model a silicone mould was made, which we poured with polyurethane. This material does not let water through and is therefore ideal in a cleaning process. The mould is reusable, making the development of this product relatively sustainable.
