For Isogen Life Science we developed heating blocks. Isogen Life Science is a distributor of all kinds of life science equipment and products, including the RT-PCR. This system is used at various airports to faster obtain COVID test results.
In their workflow, the RNA inactivation step (step prior to the PCR reaction) was not optimal. The heat transfer was not ideal and did not reach the desired temperature.
Therefore, we developed heating blocks with the perfect fit for the swab tubes. Due to this ideal fit, the heat transfer was optimised and the desired temperature was reached more quickly.
These heating blocks are made with the help of CNC machine. We delivered these blocks within a week on a large scale, on request with urgency due to COVID.
The blocks are made of aluminium with an anodised coating to create the ideal heat transfer.
